A certificate of analysis should be matched to the product and batch you are checking. Finding a document with the same brand name is only a starting point.
Compare identifiers first
Record the full product name, flavor or variant, and batch or lot code from the package. Then look for corresponding identifiers on the report. A broadly named sample may need clarification from the manufacturer before you can connect it to a specific product.
Do not assume a report for a different flavor, format, or batch applies because the packaging looks similar.
Keep matching separate from results
- Product and variant identified.
- Package batch or lot code recorded.
- Report identifiers compared.
- Printed date labels and dates recorded.
- Source URL or supplied file retained.
This checklist covers identification and dates only. It does not interpret laboratory results or establish what a product’s testing means.
If an identifier is missing or inconsistent, ask the manufacturer or retailer for the document corresponding to the exact product and batch. A newer date on an unrelated report does not resolve that mismatch.
Search available lab documents or request help matching a report.
