How to Map a Small Beverage Cooler

Compact beverage cooler with organized rows of cans and a matching shelf layout sketch.

A cooler map, sometimes called a planogram, records where products belong. For a small display, a simple shelf-by-shelf list can be enough.

Map the usable space

Measure the actual shelf capacity for the containers you stock. Decide how many front-facing positions each product receives and how many units fit behind them. Keep labels readable and avoid placing similar-looking variants where they are easy to confuse.

Separate THC products clearly from non-THC beverages, and follow applicable store requirements and each product’s storage directions.

Record each position

  • Shelf or section.
  • Supplier SKU and full product name.
  • Flavor and container size.
  • Number of facing positions.
  • Target stock count for that position.

Use the map when receiving deliveries and replenishing the display. If you move a product, update the record so staff do not refill the old position by habit.

Review the arrangement when products change or repeated customer questions suggest a label is hard to find. A clear cooler is useful for both shoppers and inventory work.
